July 24, 2026 – Ace Computers, a leading national provider of advanced computing solutions that power the next generation of HPC, AI inference, 5G/edge, and cloud computing, today announced support for 6th Gen AMD EPYC Server CPUs across its server lineup, further expanding its portfolio of systems designed for demanding workloads.

Two Sockets, One Generation

With 6th Gen AMD EPYC Server CPUs, AMD introduces a two-socket strategy to serve the diverse workloads of the modern data center. The larger SP7 socket delivers leadership performance for the agentic AI era, with industry-leading memory bandwidth and PCIe Gen 6 connectivity, and the SP8 socket delivers efficient scale-out performance where density is the goal. Both sockets can be equipped with AMD performance “Zen6” or density “Zen6c” cores to fit the architecture of any deployment.

Leadership Performance with SP7

AMD EPYC™ 9006 Server CPUs have up to 256 cores and 512 threads per socket, providing the density to run more virtual machines and AI services per rack while lowering overall TCO. PCIe Gen 6 connectivity and 16-channel DDR5 support provides the throughput to remove bottlenecks in networking and bandwidth. These features make SP7 the ideal processor for AI, HPC, hyperscale cloud, and telco 5G core deployments, where per-core performance and throughput matter most. For AI agents that need to run multiple workloads concurrently while maximizing GPU utilization, SP7 delivers the compute foundation to scale.
 
With SP7’s compute density, Ace Computers can build rack-scale systems supporting over 40,000 CPU cores in a single liquid-cooled rack, giving agentic AI workloads the compute foundation to run multiple concurrent workflows, orchestrate GPU-fed pipelines, and scale enterprise AI deployments without compute bottlenecks. As autonomous agents take on increasingly complex, multi-step objectives, robust CPU infrastructure becomes essential to unlocking their full potential.

Scale-Out Efficiency with SP8

SP8 takes a different approach, delivering efficient compute for virtualization, database, and edge deployments where efficiency and consistency matter most. With a smaller footprint than AMD EPYC 9005 CPUs and greater performance per watt, the AMD EPYC 9006 processor SP8 socket is the perfect fit for power and space constrained environments. Despite the compact platform, SP8 offers 128 PCIe Gen 6 lanes and 2DPC memory support, delivering the I/O and memory flexibility enterprise workloads demand while maximizing performance per system dollar.

Platform Support for 6th Gen AMD EPYC Server CPUs

Across both SP7 and SP8, Ace Computers offers a comprehensive server portfolio that pairs each socket with the workloads it was designed for, spanning rack, blade, GPU, and edge systems. For the SP7 socket, several notable additions have been made to the Ace Powerworks server lineup. The new Powerworks™  RV165 is a single-socket rack server that uses closed-loop liquid cooling to support SP7’s maximum 256-core configuration at max power within a 1U compact chassis. On the other extreme , the Powerworks™ BV685-LS10is a 6U ten-node blade server with direct liquid cooling, purpose-built for high-density HPC deployments.

Shipments of Ace® Powerworks™ Servers, Powered by AMD® EPYC™ 9006 Series Processors

Ace® Powerworks™ servers featuring the new AMD 9006 Series SP7 systems will begin shipments on day one along with AMD in November 2026 at SC26 in Chicago.  AMD series 9006 SP8 systems will begin shipments in March 2027.
